Sampson was a wonderful hamadryas baboon who sadly, passed away while in my care. Having been utilized as a laboratory animal, Sampson suffered through years of psychological and physical experiments. Sampson came to me before I had any knowledge or understanding of the plight of laboratory animals, but in short measure, I was able to witness the devastating effects. I credit Sampson for helping me understand my role in ending the suffering of laboratory primates as well as that of other abused, abandoned and unwanted animals. I will always be grateful for the lessons I learned from this brave and noble soul. He was my friend.
